Skin Cancer Treatment
For many patients, basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas will be treated with Mohs skin cancer surgery. During the Mohs procedure, cancers will be removed one layer at a time and pathological evaluation will be obtained after each layer so that as little healthy tissue as possible is removed while all cancer cells are eliminated. Although Dr. Jarmuz does not perform the Mohs procedure herself, she works closely with leading Atlanta dermatologists to close the defects created after removal of cancerous lesions. One reason that other professionals choose to refer patients to Dr. Jarmuz is that her closures are virtually undetectable to the eye.
