Brow Lift
Sagging eyebrows can be one of the first visible signs of aging. Over the years, the forehead begins to droop, pushing the upper eyelids down and causing many people to complain that their eyes appear smaller or deeper-set. The drooping and sagging may also make you look angry, stern, sad, or tired – even if you are not. Dr. Theresa M. Jarmuz offers brow lift surgery in Atlanta to help people from Buckhead, Vinings, Smyrna, Brookhaven, and other nearby areas address drooping brows so they look as young and alert as they feel.
Dr. Jarmuz is a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon offering a variety of surgical and minimally-invasive facial cosmetic procedures. To learn more about brow lift surgery and other procedures to reduce the signs of aging, book now with Dr. Jarmuz online or call her office at (404) 233-3937.

The Procedure
A brow lift, or forehead lift, can be performed in several different ways, often with the use of an endoscope (a very small surgical video device). Incisions are hidden behind the hairline. For many men and women in Atlanta, a brow lift will not only address sagging of the brows but may also decrease horizontal wrinkles on the forehead.
Can Brow Lift Surgery Be Combined With Other Procedures?
Brow lift procedures are often combined with other facial cosmetic surgeries such as eyelid surgery or a facelift for more comprehensive improvement.

Nonsurgical Alternatives
If you are not ready for surgery, BOTOX® Cosmetic or Dysport® may provide a temporary improvement that is similar to the effects of a brow lift, particularly for vertical forehead creases. Dr. Jarmuz may also use BOTOX or Dysport prior to surgery so that you can see a temporary improvement even before your surgical recovery is complete.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is a brow lift painful?
You may feel some discomfort after your brow lift surgery, but it is easily managed with pain medication. Bruising and swelling after the procedure are normal, and you may feel some tingling or numbness in the area as you heal. Keeping your head elevated, even when you sleep, reduces swelling and bruising and helps keep you more comfortable during your recovery.
How long will my results last?
You can expect your brow lift results to last 10 to 12 years. Although a brow lift creates long-lasting results, it won’t stop the aging process in the future. To maintain your results for as long as possible, protect your skin from the sun, follow a healthy skincare regimen, and talk with your surgeon about nonsurgical procedures that might extend the look of your results.
Can a brow lift fix hooded eyes?
A brow lift can sometimes help the appearance of hooded eyes. If you have significant laxity on your upper eyelids, however, an upper eyelid lift (blepharoplasty) may better achieve your goals.
Are you put to sleep during brow lift surgery?
Yes, you will be under general anesthesia during your surgery.
Does a brow lift raise the cheeks?
A brow lift doesn’t typically provide a lift to the cheeks. If you’re concerned about laxity around your cheek area, you may be better suited for a facelift. Dermal fillers may also help the appearance of sunken or flat-looking cheeks by adding volume for definition.
Will my hairline change after surgery?
A brow lift can change the hairline, depending on the surgical technique. If you’re concerned about your hairline or the height of your forehead, be sure to talk about your concerns with your surgeon during your consultation.
