Most of our patients have heard of BOTOX® and many know something about treatments such as CoolSculpting®. But there are a number of nonsurgical treatments, such as CO2RE Intima and miraDry, offered at our Atlanta practice that we want you to know about.
The medical spa at Buckhead Facial Plastic Surgery offers a menu of procedures that treat a range of conditions for all areas of the face and body. In some cases, men and women may live with certain conditions because they don’t realize that treatments even exist.
miraDry
Excessive underarm sweating can be both annoying and embarrassing. It can hamper the professional and personal lives of people who avoid certain situations where they may need to raise their arms. It can also be costly to replace clothes damaged by sweat stains.
As the only noninvasive treatment approved by the FDA to treat excessive underarm sweating, miraDry can be a life-changing treatment for individuals who have lived for years with hyperhidrosis. miraDry works by targeting underarm sweat glands with electromagnetic energy delivered via a hand-held device.
The energy heats the sweat and odor glands, destroying them. They don’t grow back, so the results are considered permanent. That’s not the case with BOTOX, which some of our Atlanta patients know is also FDA-approved to treat hyperhidrosis. Because the body has more than a million sweat glands, it’s not a problem to permanently destroy the underarm glands.
CO2RE Intima
Women are becoming increasingly more comfortable discussing vaginal wellness and rejuvenation, including treatments like CO2RE Intima, which is designed to enhance quality of life by improving the vagina’s tone, texture, and appearance. But CO2RE Intima is also great for treating incontinence, which can occur with the decreased tone of vaginal tissue.
Even though CO2RE Intima can be an effective treatment for women of any age, it’s most often used to stimulate the growth of collagen for women who have had children or who are postmenopausal. The nonsurgical laser treatment is quick, typically taking no more than 15 minutes, and doesn’t require any anesthetic. Most patients get the desired results after undergoing 3 treatments spaced 3 weeks apart.
